Here’s a step by step tutorial on how to create a new travel blog.

Please note, there is a difference between a travel blog and a travel blog entry. The travel blog is the entire trip (think of a book) and the travel blog entry is each chapter in your book. Got it now? Good.

Step 1. Click on “My Travel Blogs” in your left-hand menu

Step 2. Click the blue “Create Travel Blog” button

Step 3. Fill out your Travel Blog infomation.

• Travel Blog Title: self explanatory
• Travel Start Date: your day of departure
• Starting City/Location: most likely where you’re departing, or flying out from
• Starting Country: the country you’re departing from
• Introduce this Trip: a short explanation about this trip
• Privacy setting: sets whether the travel blog can be seen by others

Step 4. Confirm Your Starting Location on the Map

If the map point for your starting location looks correct, then click the continue button on the bottom. If you think it’s off or you want to move it yourself, click the “I want to move the marker on the map” and then click to drag and drop the pin where you want it. When you’re done, click the continue button at the bottom.

Step 5. Start Your First Travel Blog Entry

• Blog Entry Title - self explanatory
• Date - the date you’re publishing the entry
• Location - the city where you’re publishing the entry
• Country - the country where you’re publishing the entry

Step 6. Confirm Your Blog Entry Location On the Map

This is the map point for your current travel blog entry. If the point looks correct, then click the continue button on the bottom. If you think it’s off or you want to move it yourself, click the “I want to move the marker on the map” and then click to drag and drop the pin where you want it. When you’re done, click the continue button at the bottom.

Step 7. Write Your First Travel Blog Entry

Now that you’ve set up all the introductory information, you’re ready to write your first travel blog entry! Write or paste in your text into the text field. Feel free to use the text editor to add bold, italics, underline and other effects.

Remember to save often! Your entry will remain as a draft until you’re done, and click the “Publish This Entry” button. And that’s it!
